Concert: The Struggle to Be Heard– Chamber Music of Diverse Composers – March 4, 2016

March 4, 2016,   7:30 p.m.  Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall (Part of The Bucknell Orchestra Semester of Social Justice)

The second concert of the Bucknell Orchestra Semester of Social Justice Series presents performances of chamber music by diverse, underrepresented composers.  The program includes works by African-American Composer William Grant Still, openly gay, turn of the 20th century composer Charles Tomlinson Griffes, transgendered composer Angela Morley, and woman composer Sylvia Glickman.  Students from the Bucknell Orchestra, and the Metta Quartet will perform.  Admission is free.  This concert is made possible in part with support from the President’s Fund, the It Starts With Me Mini Grant, and the Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Gender.
