With insights from his recent research on Latina elected and appointed officials, Dr. Affigne discusses the benefits and limitations of qualitative research methods, for the study of Latinx political engagement and empowerment. His lecture explores the synthesis of quantitative and qualitative approaches; intersectionality in research design and interpretation; and the explication of counter-intuitive and contradictory findings.
